Unforgettable adventure
Three days and two nights in the Guacamayas Ecolodge that will help you to discover our place: kayak experience, visit to the Scarlet Macaw conservation area, boat trip and accommodation.
You will normally arrive during the evening after a few hours of road. Rest, take your time and have some dinner in our restaurant (not included).
On day two, enjoy a kayak experience in the Lacantún river. Challenge yourself to ride in the natural park and feel the strength of the water, the nature surrounding you. We will take the kayak downstream until we reach the area of Pico de Oro (approximately 15kms). Once there, our land transport will pick us up and take us back to the lodge. The full activity takes around 4 hours.
Once back in the lodge, make a short tour to visit our town “Ejido Reforma Agraria” where, together with our project, we preserve the Scarlet Macaw in the wild. For its conservation, we build artificial nests that you will be able to see. During the hike, we might be lucky enough to see Toucans, parrots, spider monkeys, howler monkeys or hummingbirds, depending on the season of your visit. You will also be able to discover our flora.
On day three, you will leave early in the morning to a boat ride of around 2 hours, to discover the Natural Reserve of Montes Azules. This National Reserve is a refuge for a large number of mammals, reptiles and birds. It is common to observe monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, moreletis, herons and kingfishers. If we are lucky, me might also observe jaguar, tapir and otters, among other species.
The journey ends once we are back.
Important information
- The kayak tour lasts around 3 hours and can be done between 8:00 and 14:00. We will confirm departure once you arrive.
- There is a maximum capacity of 8 persons per tour
- We include life jacket, rowing, guide, single or double kayak, advise on the use of kayak.
- Beware that kayak is restricted to specific areas. Follow your guide instructions.
- The Scarlet Macaw Conservation tour lasts around 1:20 hrs. and will be taken between around 16:00 hrs.
- We include a guide. The tour is restricted to specific areas. Please follow your guide instructions.
- The boat ride includes insurance for the activity, a motor boat with seats, lifejacket and a guide. The areas are also restricted. Please follow your guide directions.

- The room is located in a large construction (cabin) that has two separated rooms. Your room has 2 double beds, private bathroom, hot water and full comfort. It also has a ventilator and the room is fully isolated with mosquito nets. It’s a full quality room.
- We offer full service for breakfast, lunch, dinner (not included)
- Check-in: 15:00 / Check-out: Noon
- Additionally, every passenger will have to cover an additional fee of 50 pesos (per person) for the Lacandon community

Preserving the jungle is our main duty: our project is committed to the conservation of the scarlet macaw and it is a pleasure to show our visitors our efforts in this regard. Join us on a three-day trip to see it
Normalmente llegarás por la tarde después de unas horas de camino. Descansa, tómate tu tiempo y cena en nuestro restaurante (no incluido).
El segundo día, seguramente te despertará el sonido de los monos aulladores. Después de escucharlos por un rato, toma tu desayuno (no incluido) y prepárate para una visita al área de conservación para la Guacamaya Roja.
En esta aventura, conocerás nuestro proyecto: nuestro esfuerzo por incrementar la población de guacamayas en su hábitat natural, así como la preservación de las áreas. En esta actividad pasearemos por nuestro pueblo: el Ejido Reforma Agraria, tanto por su entorno urbano como por los pastizales que lo rodean.
Después del almuerzo, caminata por nuestro sendero interpretativo de 2.5 kms. ubicado dentro de la Biosfera de la Reserva Comunitaria, la cual tiene una extensión de 1463 hectáreas de selva de alta perennifolia. Esta reserva alberga una gran cantidad de mamíferos, reptiles y aves, algunos de los cuales probablemente podrás ver. También existe la posibilidad de ver monos. Durante la caminata, aprenderemos sobre distintos tipos de árboles y plantas, como la “ceiba pentandra”, la caoba y el cedro. Siempre estarás en contacto con la naturaleza y con nuestros guías.

- For the conservation area, the tour takes around 1 hr and can be made between 7:00 and 16:00. In the rainy season, make sure you wear a raincoat.

Tres días y dos noches en Las Guacamayas Ecolodge que te ayudarán a descubrir nuestro lugar: experiencia en kayak, visita al área de conservación de la Guacamaya Roja, viaje en lancha y alojamiento.

El segundo día, disfruta de una experiencia de kayak en el río Lacantún. Desafíate a ti mismo a montar en el parque natural y siente la fuerza del agua, la naturaleza que te rodea. Tomaremos el kayak río abajo hasta llegar a la zona de Pico de Oro (aproximadamente 15kms). Una vez allí, nuestro transporte terrestre nos recogerá y nos llevará de regreso al albergue. La actividad completa dura unas 4 horas.
Una vez de regreso en el albergue, haz un pequeño tour para visitar nuestro pueblo “Ejido Reforma Agraria” donde, junto con nuestro proyecto, preservamos la guacamaya roja en su hábitat natural. Para su conservación, construimos nidos artificiales que podrás ver. Durante la caminata, podemos tener la suerte de ver tucanes, loros, monos araña, monos aulladores o colibríes, dependiendo de la temporada de su visita. También podrás descubrir nuestra flora.
El tercer día, saldrás temprano por la mañana para un paseo en lancha de aproximadamente 2 horas, para descubrir la Reserva Natural de Montes Azules. Esta Reserva Nacional es refugio de un gran número de mamíferos, reptiles y aves. Es común observar monos, cocodrilos moreletis, iguanas, garzas y martines pescadores. Si tenemos suerte, también podemos observar jaguares, tapires y nutrias, entre otras especies.
El viaje termina cuando regresamos.
